The Black Diamond 

The Black Diamond is a modern architectural icon where the past meets the present, in the unique combination of the Royal Library's old red-brick main building from the turn of the last century and the beautiful, glistening library extension from 1999, designed by the architects Schmidt, Hammer and Lassen, and which towers up in black elegance along the waterfront.
 

The Opera House
On the other side of the harbour lies Maersk McKinney Møller's gift to the city - the new opera house, designed by the Danish architect Henning Larsen. This elegant sandstone building with its characteristic 'floating' roof is located in 'Holmen' - one of Copenhagen's new fashionable districts. The water buses, an integrated part of Copenhagen's public transport system, will take you right to the entrance.
 

The Danish Design Centre
If you'd like to take a piece of Danish design home with you - and you feel a chair might be a little large for the plane - the Danish Design Centre (near Tivoli Gardens) sells miniature versions of a wide range of designs and classics.
