Currently, Copenhagen offers more than 17,000 hotel rooms spanning from top-class, five-star hotels, to the budget-priced contemporary designed rooms of Europe's largest city hostel.
The fixed link between Sweden and Denmark means that more than 28,000 hotel rooms are now available in the Øresund Region as a whole.
In Copenhagen the hotels offer state-of-the-art facilities including wireless internet. Additionally the welcoming environment is a trademark, and in recent years the majority of the hotels have completed renovations maintaining the high standards. As a result, the city now offers a wide selection of contemporary hotels. Finally, over the next three years the Copenhagen city area will gain 4,800 new hotel rooms.
Expansion of 4,800 rooms
Out of the total expansion of the 4,800 rooms expected in the city within the coming three years, close to 2,500 will be situated in the city area Ørestad. Among them a 810-room hotel will be built in conjunction to the Bella Center - Copenhagen Congress Center. And 710 rooms will open in what will be Denmark's largest low budget hotel, the Cab Inn Metro designed by the world famous architect Daniel Libeskind.
