Copenhagen: World's second best city
July 2001 Copenhagen is the second best city in the world for quality of life. The British lifestyle magazine, Monocle, which surveys the quality of life in 25 cities every year, has once again placed the Danish capital towards the very top of the list.The editors of the internationally-renowned lifestyle magazine Monocle have placed Copenhagen in second place in their global ranking of the best cities in the world to live in. According to the magazine, only Munich is better. In 2008, Copenhagen took first place.
Gastronomic supremacyIn addition, the high quality of gastronomy on offer in the city's restaurants means that Copenhagen boasts a total of 13 Michelin stars, as well, of course, as Noma, the recently crowned Best Restaurant in the World and recently featured in The New York Times - see the slide show here. The only real area in which Monocle perceived Copenhagen to be lacking was in its limited selection of high-class hotels. Read more here Monocle
