Luxury with a green conscience
Think of Scandinavian design and Nordic gourmet food. Add an international staff. And serve it all in a setting of climate smart solutions. Then you have the taste of the hotel experience at the new Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers. With 25 stories and 366 rooms, the hotel will shape the skyline of the Danish capital and as the UN Climate Summit takes place in December, the hotel will be ready to welcome the world's ministers, experts and presidents. The CO2 neutral building meets the requirements for a Danish Low Energy Class II building, as well as EU requirements for certified Green Buildings, as renewable energy sources provide all of the hotel's energy. For example, water for cooling and heating is extracted from 100 meters below the earth's surface with Denmark's first ever groundwater-based system - saving up to 90 percent of the energy consumption used for cooling and heating on a yearly basis. And all sunny facades are covered with ultra thin, high technology solar panels generating 170.000 kWh each year - equivalent to consumption of 55 Danish family houses.
All inclusive "Our guests will not pay more for the environmental initiatives we have taken. We always deliver more than we promise," Managing Director Allan L. Agerholm says with a smile. All interior at Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers is Scandinavian design furniture dominated by clean lines and elegant simplicity. And the hotel restaurant serves modern, Nordic cuisine made from local produce. Besides stays for both business and leisure travellers Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers offers a 3,500 sq m conference centre - the largest of its rooms able to seat 800 delegates. |
