Music goes green in Copenhagen
Under the headline of ‘Advocating for Change' Simon Broughton, Songlines (UK) with Alison Tickell, Julie's Bicycle (UK) and Esben Danielsen, Roskilde Festival (Denmark) will lead discussions on how the music industry can adapt to climate challenges. During 5 days more than 49 concerts will be played by 300 musicians from 40 countries. Concerts will be stages in the new unique building by the French architect Jean Nouvel, Koncerthuset, that provides the best modern acoustic and visual setting for concertgoers. WOMEX is a bustling trade fair with 320 stands and over 650 exhibiting companies, including numerous umbrella stands from countries, regions, networks and other joint-venture structures, 2800 delegates and 1425 companies from more than 100 countries, over 1000 concert and festival bookers (arguably the highest concentration of potential bookers in the same place at the same time anywhere on the planet), over 750 labels, publishers and distributors, over 850 managers and 450 producers, over 310 national and international journalists, including 170 radio broadcasters. WOMEX takes place October 28 - November 1 2009 in Copenhagen.
