Ever since Martin Kraunsøe became General Manager at First Hotel Twentyseven in early August his focus has been to upgrade the hotel to a lifestyle offering and to develop new concepts. One concept they have worked very hard at developing is "living architecture", which has resulted in a renewed and expanded collaboration with Louis Poulsen regarding the hotel’s lighting design. Furthermore, a new collaboration with designer Morten Voss and Thors Design has resulted in an amazingly new and fresh look for the hotel’s ground floor.
First Hotel Twentyseven’s physical design hasn’t been the only focus. New service concepts and service products have been launched during the autumn specifically targeted at businesspeople. The breakfast service has been given a serious international upgrade. And soon the hotel restaurant, The Wine Room, will launch an evening a la carte brasserie concept. All these initiatives aim at attracting the modern, discerning business segment.
ICEBAR CPH has just been given a whole new design. All the ice has been replaced with ice from the Torne River 200 km north of the Polar Circle. The ice has now been cut and fashioned to create an amazing new artistic design. Changes to the design of the bar are made to an annual schedule.
“To be the General Manager of a lifestyle hotel such Twentyseven requires commitment and demands that you constantly think in new ways and know what’s happening out in the world. But equally as important is to communicate your ideas and thoughts to the staff since they are to act as guarantors of the service that we seek to give you,” says Martin Kraunsøe.
