Copenhagen hosts European Film Awards 2008
For the first time in history the European Film Awards - European counterpart to the Oscars - will be held in a Scandinavian country. 6 December 2008 Copenhagen hosts the prestigious award show. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark will be among the guests.
The 21st European Film Awards will be the first to take place in a Scandinavian country. When the members of the European Film Academy, film stars, winners and nominees gather in the Danish capital for this year's European Film Awards on 6 December 2008, they will be joined by members of the European high nobility, also for the first time.
Royal guests
Their Royal Highnesses the Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark will be among the 1,500 guests at the glamorous award ceremony at the Forum in Copenhagen. They will be joined by the cream of the local as well as the whole European film community. The show will be broadcast in 61 countries. For a list of broadcasters, visit European Film Academy.
The 21st European Film Awards are presented by the European Film Academy and EFA Productions in collaboration with EFA08 ApS and the Copenhagen International Film Festival with support from the City of Copenhagen, the Danish Film Institute, Region Hovedstaden, Nordisk Film Fonden, Wonderful Copenhagen, the Danish film industry and the City of Frederiksberg.
