Copenhagen Fashion Week
Ranking among the top ten fashion centres in the world and a cool No. 1 in Scandinavia, Denmark has gradually risen to a high level of fashion consciousness hosting two annual trade-only fashion fairs called Copenhagen Fashion Week. Running parallel with the trade-only fashion fairs are the open-to-the public fashion events Copenhagen Fashion Weekend, where fashionistas and shoppers alike can share the fashion vibe.
As a city of fashion, Copenhagen is the perfect setting for "fashion for the people". Over the last five years, Copenhagen has shown that this is the place to find some of the most stylish fashion boutiques and some of the most skilled designers.
Copenhagen Fashion Week in 2009 will focus on a wide range of fashion oriented events from fashion shows, styling, make-up and trends to shopping the new arrivals collections. All you have to do is check out the programme as it develops on the official website, so join in and celebrate fashion Copenhagen style.

10-16 August
STRØM - festival for electronic music
STRØM is a new festival in Copenhagen for electronic music. Not a traditional festival, but rather a selection of the best and strongest purveyors of electronic music on the Copenhagen event scene.
STRØM was established in cooperation with the Copenhagen City Council, DR/Public Service, VEGA, Amager Bio, ROSA, Wonderful Copenhagen and a number of the strongest and most important names in the Danish electronic world.
Ambitions are that STRØM will become an annually recurrent and growing electronic event, placing it among the most important music events in Scandinavia. This takes time, but artists, venues and clubs are all willing and prepared to put in the neccessary effort.
STRØM is Danish for electricity - so STRØM for six days in August will "light up" Copenhagen.
