What goes on at the bottom of Oresund between Sweden and Denmark? Get the answer to that question by visiting the Oresund Aquarium in Elsinore (Helsingør). Here, it is possible to get an insight into the fantastic - and to most people completely unknown - underwater world which unfolds at the bottom of the seas surrounding us. You can find reconstructions of the bottom of Oresund, and in the children's aquarium you are permitted to touch for example sea anemones, sea urchin, crabs and various fish. During weekdays you can also see the animals get fed.

Denmark's Aquarium

At Denmark's Aquarium in Charlottenlund, north of Copenhagen you can meet plenty of underwater life. The 300 colourful fish and odd aquatic animals stems from all over the globe. There are funny fish, teethy sharks, electric eels and eight-armed octopuses. Also meet the piranha that will flense anything in less than a second. In the basement of the aquarium kids can touch some of the aquatic animals during weekends and holidays. You can also see when the fish get fed every weekend and the daily feeding during the summer holidays.

Zoo flodhestZoo

Copenhagen's Zoo in Frederiksberg is one of Europe's finest zoological gardens and is home to wild animals from all over the world. Elephants, lions, polar bears and sea lions. Most of the animals live outside, but the Abe House and the Tropical House with crocodiles and colourful butterflies is also worth a visit. Take the kids to the Children's Zoo where they can meet all sorts of livestock, pat goats and play in Rabbit Town. Remember to also visit the African savannah with giraffes, antelopes, hippopotamuses etc.

Fredensborg Falkonergård Rovfugl

The whirr of wings can often be heard in the air space above Falkonergården in Fredensborg north of Copenhagen. From April to October, several days a week, you and the kids can experience eagles, falcons and other fascinating birds of prey when they dive with 200 kilometres per hour and put their claws in their prey. During the shows in the green surroundings the kids can get very close to the trained birds and pat them if they dare.
