Vega - fyr danserIn the 1760s Nørrebro was mostly fields and farmingland - today it is a hot spot with popular shopping areas, many cafees, restaurants and places to hang out at. Sankt Hans Torv is one of the great places in the area and has several young trendy cafés, like Pussy Galores and Café Sebastopol, that are usually packed to the ceiling during weekends.

Up-coming designers

If you are more into shopping than hanging out at trendy cafees the closeby streets are a great place. Many up-coming designers have shops in this area and you will be able to do some good buys around here. Also second hand clothing stores are a popular phenomenon in this area.

The cementery for famous artists

When walking around in this area you might end up at the big yellow wall that surrounds Assistens kirkegården, a cemetery, where among others the famous writers H.C. Andersen and Soeren Kirkegaard are buried.

The interesting thing about the cemetery is that it is not just a cemetery but many people use it as a park during summer-time. So people are tanning amongst graveyards and tombstones; so go there and hang out with the locals.
