Copenhagen has three sea forts at the entrance to the harbour in the middle of Øresund. They are all artificial islands with Middelgrundsfortet being the largest of its kind in the world and also the best preserved of the three.

Guided tours

They were all built as part of the Danish defense system in protecting Copenhagen against attacks from the sea, but today they are open to the public and guided tours are arranged on daily basis.

It is also possible to arrange meetings, conferences, dinners, accomodation etc. at the sea forts. The famous and picturesque Nyhavn is where boats will take you through Øresund out to the islands or another alternative could be to rent your own boat or fly by helicopter.

All three sea forts are without doubt a good way to experience Copenhagen from the seaside and get a closer look at the interesting history of the old war landmarks.
